How do I submit my application?

Please fill out the application form available on our website ( here: APPLICATION – Wunnraum fir Stagiairen ) and send it, together with your supporting documents, by email to wfs@wunnengshellef.lu

How long in advance should I apply?

We are usually booked out 3-4 months in advance, but this can vary, and we sometimes have last-minute cancellations. Please send us an email specifying the time period you’re interested in, and we will let you know about our availabilities.

What is the price range of your rooms?

The monthly occupation fee varies between 675 and 900 Euros; the dimensions and comfort of the rooms are in accordance.

Can I make an appointment for a visit of the house and the room?

Yes. Please contact us, we can arrange an appointment for you to visit the house. Entering the room is only possible if it is not occupied at that time.

Can my friend/family member visit the house on my behalf?

Yes. Please contact us, we can arrange an appointment for your friend/family member to visit the house on your behalf. Entering the room is only possible if it is not occupied at that time.

Can my friend/family member collect the room keys for me?

No. The keys will be handed over to you when you sign the contract during check-in. The keys are strictly for your use only and cannot be given to a third party.

Can friends/family come to visit me?

Yes, during the day and provided they do not inconvenience other occupants. Visitors, including spouses, are not permitted to stay overnight.

I would like to reserve a room on a weekly basis, is that possible?

No, our rooms are available on a monthly basis only.

Do you have residences for women only or men only?

No, our residences are mixed.

We are a couple. Do you have rooms available for couples?

No, we only have single rooms.

I am a university student. Can I apply?

No, our accommodation is exclusively for trainees doing an internship at a company or institution in Luxembourg.

I am a third-country national. Do I need to apply for a VISA or residence Permit to come to Luxembourg?

I am a third-country national and waiting for a response for my residence permit. Can I reserve a room?

We can start your reservation process, but we will need proof of your residence permit to finalise your reservation.

Can I arrive a few days early? Can I stay a few days longer?

No, you can only arrive on the first day of your booking and must leave no later than the last day of your booking.

At what time should I arrive?

You can arrive on the first day of your booking, earliest at 3pm and ideally not later than 8pm. We will contact you in advance to arrange your arrival.

What equipment is available in the house?

The kitchen is equipped with all the necessary cooking utensils such as pans and pots as well as glasses, cups, plates, cutlery, etc.
Wi-Fi, a washing machine, a tumble dryer, an ironing board and iron, and clothes drying racks are also available.

What is included in the ARCI (all rental charges included)?

Electricity, water, heating, internet, home insurance, municipal taxes (rubbish collection and sewage taxes), as well as maintenance of common areas are included. We nevertheless ask you to be mindful of your consumption and to not wastefully use resources.

Are there any obligations I should be aware of?

You will receive the internal rules by email. In summary, we expect all interns to respect:
• the physical and moral integrity as well as the private property of other interns,
• night-time rest in common areas between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.,
• the cleanliness of the common areas and the assigned room,
• the prohibition of smoking, consuming illegal substances, organising parties and gatherings between guests in the building.

When do I need to transfer the monthly occupation fee for each month?

The MOF must be paid in the first seven days at the beginning of each month.

Can I register my address at the accommodation?

Yes, after you have signed your contract, you can register at the commune. You will find more information here Declaring a move to a new commune of residence – Guichet.lu – Luxembourg

What do I have to bring?

The intern has to bring his/her personal items as well as blankets and cover for a single bed.

Can I bring my dog/cat/hamster?

No, pets are not allowed.

Can I sublet my room?

No, the room is reserved for your use only.

Can I paint the walls of my room?

No, if you damage the walls of the room, our technical service will need to repaint them and you will be responsible for the costs.

Can I drill holes in the walls of my room?

No.

Can I bring my own furniture?

No.

What should I do if I break something?

You must report it to us as soon as possible so that we can arrange for repairs. You will be charged for the cost of repairs.

What should I do if I notice a maintenance issue or any other problem?

Please contact us so that we can remedy the problem.

Can my deposit be used as payment for the last month?

No.

Can I park a car at the residence?

We do not have parking spaces for the interns living in our residencies. You can, however, apply for a parking permit at the commune, which will allow you to park on the street. To do so, the car must be registered in your own name.

Can I park a bicycle?

Not all residences allow indoor bicycle parking. Please ask us in advance before bringing your bicycle.

I will be away for two weeks. Will you reimburse me for the MOF (monthly occupation fee) for this period?

No.

I am leaving a few days early. Will you refund me for the period during which the room will be unoccupied?

No. The monthly occupation fee is is due until the end of the contract.

At what time do I need to leave the accommodation?

You must leave the accommodation by 11 a.m., on the last day of your contract. We will contact you in advance to arrange your departure and your inventory of fixtures.
